1 Community Economic Revitalization Board & Public Works Board Funding local opportunities in Eastern Washington

2 ▪ 2007 - LIFT Local Infrastructure Financing Tool. The program allowed each selected local government to take advantage of tax revenue generated by private investment in a revenue development area (RDA) to help finance the cost of public infrastructure improvements that encourage economic development and redevelopment in that area. ▪ 2010 - The Export Assistance Program provided $3 million for projects to support growth of export of Washington state products and services. ▪ 2012 - Community Revitalization & Economic Development Grant Programs provided $12 million to help local governments, port districts and IPZs encourage community vitality and business expansion: ▪ 9 Community Revitalization Micro Grants ($20,000 max.) totaling $154,745. ▪ 10 Community Revitalization grants totaling $3.8 million ▪ 8 Economic Development grants totaling $6.8 million In addition to traditional CERB funding, new, legislative directed programs have been administered by CERB in the last 5 years including:

4 Port of Columbia The Port of Columbia received traditional CERB funding to install basic infrastructure into Blue Mountain Station project.

7 Port of Clarkston Snake River Boat Builders Port of Clarkston was awarded an Export Assistance Grant to help the Snake River Boat Builders develop an export market for their boats.

8 Port of Clarkston Port of Clarkston Business Park Traditional CERB funding provided the Port of Clarkston with resources to install basic infrastructure in their Business Park.

9 Town of Uniontown In 2012, Uniontown successfully applied for and received economic development funds from CERB to develop a Food Processing Center.

16 Washington State University In 2011 Washington State University was selected to develop an export assistance program through their existing SBDC structure to help train and assist businesses statewide wishing to enter into export market arena.

17 Washington State University As reported in the WSU Today News: Air-to-water generator firm gets WSU export help Tuesday, Mar. 6, 2012 SPOKANE, Wash. –..... snip The commercial AquaMaX 1500 can produce up to 1,500 liters of water per day (depending on humidity levels) and has a storage capacity of 600 liters...... snip About the SBDC The Washington SBDC Export Readiness program is part of a statewide export initiative sponsored through a grant by the Washington State Community Economic Revitalization Board, which is administrated by the Washington Department of Commerce. The Washington SBDC has partnered with the WSU Impact Center to assist with agricultural research and with the International Trade Alliance in Spokane to offer export workshops across the state. The Washington SBDC is a cooperative effort of WSU, other educational institutions, economic development organizations and the U.S. Small Business Administration. CERB - Fostering economic development through export assistance.

22 Whitman County The Whitman County Transfer Station Facility improvements project is listed for funding on the PWTF 2013 selection list currently before the Legislature.

23 Whitman County Stateline Economic Development project received CERB LIFT funding and is on the current PWTF project selection list for 2013.

24 City of Palouse ▪ In 2000 the CERB board awarded REV funds to the City as one of seven partners in a $2,500,000 downtown revitalization project. ▪ In 2001 Palouse received a PWTF loan for a new municipal well.
