Mostly Hungarian nationalities immigrate Just a few percent of them are foreigners But their average age is lower and they are better qualified

From the Second World War to the change of governing system -> Hungary was an emissive country Many people fled (1956: Revolution)

After1989 immigration started. Under the socialist control,some refugees were accepted. (Greek Civil Wars, Pinochet putsch)

First significant wave of immigration ( end of the 1980’s) Hungarians came, who lived in Romania. Yugoslav Wars refugees Most of the immigrants are from the neighbouring countries:Hungarians

1990’s: Chinese in the largest numbers-> Today: about 20.000 Also from 50 Asian and African countries immigrants came.

MIGRATION FROM HUNGARY migration has increased over the past 20 years 1950’s: many people migrated from Hungary to other countries. because of: different political views they were persecuted,had to leave the country.

Financial crisis for many years-> many workplaces and factories are closed down. The countries, where most of us migrate to are: Austria, Canada, Germany, England, Greece.

Many people lost their job -> unemployment

Most students want to leave and start a new life-> To find work there and to get more money. Many of them never return,but some loyal Hungarians come back because : family, friends, homesickness
