2 NCKU Notice: Academic Affairs ----- Course Selection & Cancellation Course Selection * Undergraduate students (1) From the 1st to the 3rd school year: The credits required for each semester should not be less than 16 or more than 25. (2) For 4 th school year: should not be less than 9 or more than 25 credits. * G raduate students: Should take at least 1 course. * There are three stages of the course selection. Students need to select the courses in the appointed duration. The University will update the info on the website of Registration Division and International Student Affairs Division separately. Course Cancellation * Students are allowed to cancel 2 courses the most before 6 weeks of the final semester exams.

3 NCKU Notice: Academic Affairs ----- Department Transfer & Credits Transfer Department Transfer Postgraduates are allowed to apply for transfer at the end of the 1st school year. Postgraduates can only apply for department transfer once. Credits Transfer 1. For the students who transfer from the other University, the credits transfer only can be applied in the first 2 months of the first semester. 2. As for the credit transfer, please ask your department for the details.

4 NCKU Notice: Academic Affairs ----- Grades Undergraduate students should take the courses again if the grades is under 60. The pass grade of graduate students is 70. Withdrawal Foreign students shall be dismissed from the University if the credits failed in the semester reaches 2/3 of the taken credits, and the credits failed in another semester reaches 1/2 of the taken credits.

5 NCKU Notice: Academic Affairs ----- Credits Required Undergraduate 128 credits at least. Master 24 credits at least (exclude the thesis). Ph.D 18 credits at least (exclude the thesis). You can see the detailed information of every department regarding the credits required from their websites or departments.

6 NCKU Notice: Academic Affairs ----- Graduation Undergraduate: 4 to 6 years ( School of Medicine & School of Pharmacy: 6 years) ( Department of Architecture-Design Division: 5 years) Master : 1 to 4 years Ph.D.: 2 to 7 years * Due to differences in course content, degrees at some colleges will require more time for completion, e.g. Master's degree from the Department of Chinese Literature: 3 years minimum. Undergraduate students with excellent grades could apply for early graduation.
