3 TOM TORLAKSON State Superintendent of Public Instruction 3 Title III Invoicing Local educational agencies (LEAs) that had unexpended funds for Fiscal Year (FY) 2009–10 were invoiced in late January and early February. 3

5 TOM TORLAKSON State Superintendent of Public Instruction 5 Title III Payments Fiscal Year 2011 – 12 The first apportionment was processed through the Federal Cash Management Data Collection (CMDC) in December 2011. Warrants were mailed and should have been received by county treasurers in January. Submission of SNOR data is used to determine private school participation eligibility for Title III immigrant services. 10

14 TOM TORLAKSON State Superintendent of Public Instruction 14 Private School Request to Participate-Immigrant Private schools in the jurisdiction of Title III-Immigrant eligible LEAs will be asked to submit a request to participate in the 2012–13 Title III Immigrant program via online reporting due in June 2012. A letter detailing the process will be mailed to eligible private school administrators in early May 2012. 14

15 TOM TORLAKSON State Superintendent of Public Instruction 15 Private Schools-Limited English Proficient On CARS, LEAs will be asked to report two things on the private school page: –the private schools they will serve with Title III Limited English Proficient (LEP) funds in 2012–13; and –the private school students they served with Title III LEP funds in 2011–12. LEAs will be reimbursed in 2012–13 based on the private school students served in 2011–12 as reported by the LEA on CARS. 15

LEAs generating less than $10,000 apply via the online consortia application process. –A letter detailing application information is anticipated to be mailed in early May 2012 to consortia eligible LEAs. 17

25 TOM TORLAKSON State Superintendent of Public Instruction 25 Local Educational Agencies in Improvement Status The following have provided, in the last five years, technical assistance to LEAs failing to meet the Annual Measurable Achievement Objectives (AMAOs): The California Department of Education (CDE) California Comprehensive Center (CACC) at WestEd County Office of Education (COE) Regional Leads, per the agreement of services with the California County Superintendents Educational Services Association (CCSESA) 25
