6 EXPLORE/PLAN ® Overview and Purpose EXPLORE is part of ACT’s EPAS ® … Educational Planning and Assessment System ® –includes the ACT ® for students in grades 11 and 12 – PLAN ® for students in grade 10 All programs based on common content continuum –measures students’ achievement –gauges students’ readiness for the next level of learning PACESetters! 6

7 EXPLORE ® Overview and Purpose Based on the major areas of high school and post- secondary instructional programs Performance on these tests has a direct relationship to a student’s educational achievement Serves as a baseline to monitor student progress throughout high school All APS 8 th & 9 th graders PACESetters! 7

11 Administration of Assessment See “Administrator’s Packet” –Included in materials shipment –All instructions for Pre & Post Assessment and “Directions for Testing” are included. –Materials are scheduled to arrive by Sept. 23 rd PACESetters! 11

12 Assessment Results All materials must be received by the testing company no later than Nov. 4 th Results will be mailed 4-6 weeks after the test date –Student Score Report Mailed to home address (if school receives, send them home with students) –School Score Report Mailed to school, file in cumulative file PACESetters! 12
