2 An International Collaboration By Design
F-35A F-35B F-35C

3 International Program Pillars
Concept and Design Multi-Role Capability Interoperability - Affordability International Cooperation Investment Shaping F-35 Capabilities Industrial Participation JSF is also an International Business Model Partnership Concept Defined by US Government Opportunity for Long Term Workshare Based on Best Value Industrial Competition The LM / USG Challenge - Process Transparency and Probity Secure Best Value, Reliable, Top Quality Sourcing at Affordable Rates

4 International Collaboration Challenges
Reinforce Best Value Keep Partners Satisfied with Industrial Participation . .To the Extent We Can Maintain the Perspective of Strategic Industrial Vision Keep Partners Involved in Every Step of the Process

5 Maintaining Collaborative Progress
- Commitment: Top Level Involvement and Support - Credibility: Build the Best International Team Communication: 360 Degree Continuous Interaction Coordination: USG, Partner Governments, Industry Contribution: Partner Contribution to JSF is Critical

6 Communicate Both Successes and Challenges
JSF Program Priorities Going Forward Work with our International Partners to Design and Produce the Most Capable, Most Affordable Multi-Role Fighter in the World Ensure Sourcing Competitions Deliver Best Quality / Best Value Promote and Preserve Transparency in our Processes Think Strategically Communicate Both Successes and Challenges

7 JSF Design/Production Team – Awarded & Committed
Wing Conventional Edges and Surfaces Design Hawker de Havilland Airframe Component Machining Lovitt, Production Parts, Ferra Engine Component Machining Production Parts Landing Gear Handling Fixture Varley EW Components Micreo JSF Studies Calytrix, Thales, Marand Mid Fuselage Component Design GKN Australian Industry has won contract awards in various aspects of the program, and covering a wide spectrum of technologies. A big component of the work has been awarded to manufacturing firms involved in the design and machining of components for the JSF airframe and engine. Engineers from Hawker de Havilland and GKN have begun work with LM and NGC engineers in designing high technology airframe components for the JSF. Work has also extended to ground support equipment, such as the engine removal and installation trailer, being designed and built by Marand, and a Global Interoperability Study being conducted by Calytrix. Micreo has become the first electronics house in Australia in win work for building EW components for JSF. We believe this breadth of work will continue to expand in the coming years. Engine Removal/ Installation Trailer Marand Voice Recognition Software Adacel Weapon Adapters Ferra $100M in Committed and Current Awards

8 Contracts Span Diverse Technologies
Manufacturing - Composite Edge line (HdH, Marand) - Machining and Component Manufacturing (Ferra, Lovitt, Production Parts) Design and Development - Midfuselage design (GKN) - Ground Support Equipment (Marand, Varley) Electronics & Software - EW component design and manufacturing (Micreo) - Voice Recognition System Software development (Adacel) Training and Support - Global Interoperability, Training Concepts (Calytrix, Thales) This is just a sample of the over 30 ongoing RFI/RFPs being reviewed from Australia at this point in time. The opportunities span everything from Airframe technologies, to advanced electronics components, voice recognition software, and IPT participation in selected JSF IPTs.

9 Industrial Performance vs SDD Investment
Note: Does not include commitments and opportunities associated with Engine Contractor

10 Industrial Participation Breakdown
No Bids $37M Unsuccessful Bids $177M Awards & Commitments $100M Remaining Identified Opportunities $413M $727M in Opportunities to Date

11 Key JSF Collaboration Messages
International Partnerships are Vital to JSF Success Credibility: Program Vision, Leadership and Execution Confidence must be Strategic, Substantiated, and Shared Communication must be 360 Degrees Coordination among partners must be transparent / inclusive
