5 Goal Setting Short-Term: accomplished in a short period of time. Long-Term: carried out over a long period of time. *Long-term goals are often made up of many short-term goals.

6 Guidelines for Goals Goals must be SMART: Goals must be SMART: –Specific: what exactly do you want to accomplish –Measurable: can someone else look and see that you did it? (how much, how often?) –Attainable: is it possible? –Relevant: does it matter? Is it important? –Timebound: when will you accomplish the goal?
