Names of tribes south west These are the main tribes, Hopi, Comanche, pueblos and navaho. north west And these are the ones of the north west, Makin, Chinook, chimakum and Kalispell. Apache people.

Geography and geology south west Sand dune like, sangre de cristo and san Luis valley. Deep canyons, such as canyon de’ chelly and wapiti. north west Water ways include, the Columbia river. Dense moist forest, saturated soil covered the land

food south west Fruits and veggies like, peppers, watermelon, berries, cabbage. Others, yucca plants, mescal plants and roots. north west Sea animals such as halibut, crabs, flounder, octopus. Forest animals, chip monks, elks and cougars. Yucca plant

Climate It is around 40 degrees in January It is around 70 degrees in July Hot days lead to cold nights. Less than 500 ft. below sea level. Because much of the land is sea level the climate is mild. Average of 50 in. of rain-fall each year.

Resources (plants/animals) Wild animals, deer and rabbits to eat. Cacti for the animals to kick a hole in and it is 20 degrees colder in there than around them. Sea animals such as halibut, flounder, octopus and oysters to eat. Horses to ride on. Fir trees for giving air to people to breath.

Shelter Hogans are made out of rocks and mud. Wickiups are made of sticks and twigs. Temporary huts were held up by cedar planks. Wickiup

Transportation They traveled by foot. Travois powered by dogs. Horse back. On donkeys backs. Open water canoes for small waters. Horses for medium ways on land. Riding on a donkey

Other interesting facts Some tribes in the south-west actually wore feathers in their hats. The Athabascan language in the most spoken language of native Americans. Most of the northwest region was formed 2,000,000 years ago. Leafs were rolled into drinking cups. The northwest native Americans wore dome shaped hats to shed the rain.
