5. Guidelines All column entries, except the citation column, must have responses of ten words or more. An entry is complete only when all four columns have responses All entries must line up across the page and be numbered. To earn an “A,” do four entries. For a “B,” do three; for a “C,” do two. Less than two is an “F.”

6. In the Citation Column Cite an important passage, word for word, from the text (author’s last name and page number)

7. Review the main ideas of the cited passage and how it advances the plot or essay In the Summarize Column

8. Make a connection with the cited passage (personal or societal) In the Connect Column

11. 1. Each quad entry is worth 2 point 2. If the citation side is cited incorrectly, only 1/2 credit earned for that entry. 3. If any of the other columns are less than 10 words, only 1/2 credit is earned for that entire entry.
