This project has received funding from the European Union’s Horizon 2020 research and innovation programme under grant agreement n° 654237 Tools proposed to be adopted in Sci-GaIA R. Barbera (UNICT) and B. Becker (CSIR) 12 May 2015 - London
2
Outline 2 Preliminary considerations Task-specific tools «Transversal» tools
3
Preliminary considerations – The content of this presentation has been defined during a series of UNICT-CSIR meetings held in Catania starting from the 28th of April 3 Tools adopted by Sci-GaIA should be: Open Based on state-of-the-art technologies Already widely used Fully integrable in the web environment of the project (smooth user experience) and brandable with the coordinated image of the project (same «look & feel») Allowing precise accounting of what’s been done by the project within its lifetime Sustainable after the end of the project Re-usable in other contexts
4
Legenda and some more considerations 4 ToolConsumer Provider Providers and Tools should have a much wider scope than Sci-GaIA, both in term of size and lifetime The main Consumer in the next 2 years will be the Sci-GaIA website but it should be easily replaceable by other contexts after the end of the project In such a way Providers and Tools will become legacies of a long term EU-Africa collaboration and will survive specific projects Link Feed
