Vocabulary Cycle 2- obscure: (adj) not clear, ambiguous, hard to perceive; (v) to conceal or to conceal by confusing The obscure intentions of the fox made him a dangerous predator. Magicians obscure the simplicity of their acts with lots of hand movements. Saunter: (v) to walk with a leisurely pace; (n) a leisurely walk or stroll The deer saunter through the snowy woods during the off hunting season. The cat’s saunter on the fence drove the dogs in the yard into a frenzy.

Sumptuous: (adj) luxuriously fine or large; lavish The Trump Towers are a franchise of sumptuous hotels owned by the millionaire. Proprietor: (n) the owner of a business establishment Jay-Z is the proprietor of the 40/40 club in New York City.

Rapture: (n) ecstatic joy or delight; The preacher spoke with such rapture that it caused his entire congregation to explode into applause and singing. Haughtily: (adverb) to do something snobbishly or arrogantly The MVP haughtily spoke about how he carried his team to victory.

Countenance: (n) the face or appearance/expression of the face; (v) to permit, approve, or tolerate The countenance of the mom was enough to let her son know she was disappointed. Ms.T does not countenance swearing in her classroom. Incessant: (adj) continuing without interruption The car alarm was an incessant noise until the owner turned it off.

Languid: (adj) lacking in spirit or interest The children carried out their punishment with languid speed. Inexhaustible: (adj) incapable of being depleted The inexhaustible runner won 3 marathons in a month, setting a world record.
