5 © Kyler Kohler & Ostermiller, LLP 2008 2. Make the Tough Decisions Get rid of property, businesses or assets that are drains on your resources. It’s tough, but a must!!

6 © Kyler Kohler & Ostermiller, LLP 2008 3. Unload and Analyze De Clutter the house, unload things that don’t love you, create a personal financial statement. Make these changes habits and a new lifestyle. This is not a temporary fix. Use this opportunity to make the rest of your life better.

7 © Kyler Kohler & Ostermiller, LLP 2008 4. Start a small business or venture If you don’t already have a small business, create a venture to fall back on; an extra revenue source as security. Get off the couch and turn off the t.v. Watch out for high capital start-ups. Go for low inventory low capital home based business.

8 © Kyler Kohler & Ostermiller, LLP 2008 5. Back to the Basics with your Personal Budget Know where your money is going. Track your expenses. Impose spending limits. Keep good records and don’t get discouraged.

10 © Kyler Kohler & Ostermiller, LLP 2008 7. Consolidate and Eliminate Debt and Improve Your Credit Consolidate debt. Negotiate down debt. Pay down credit cards in a strategic manner. Improve your credit while you can and don’t need it.

11 © Kyler Kohler & Ostermiller, LLP 2008 8. Re-evaluate your Business Model If you own a small business already, its time to re-evaluate. If the market changes, so should your business. Add value to your position or your product.

12 © Kyler Kohler & Ostermiller, LLP 2008 9. Re-Evaluate your Portfolio Where are your assets invested? Are they in the best structure? How are all of your assets performing? Should you consider self-direction and alternative investments. It’s a “buyer’s market” right now. No more hands off approach.
