Clean the crystal with a delicate task wipe cleaning from one end of the crystal to the other Background Measurement

Press and hold the ZERO button until the display reads bAL Recall ZERO CAL RUN bAL Background Measurement

Recall ZERO CAL RUN 1.267 A multiplier value to 3 decimal places will be displayed when zero is established The actual value is only of interest when reporting problems to the factory Background Measurement

Recall ZERO CAL RUN 0.0 Background Measurement Press RUN The display should read 0.0 + 0.2 If not, repeat the zero process

Run each standard at least 3 times Average results for each standard Enter results in a calibration table in column “A” and the corresponding calibration value in column “C” (see next slide) Calibration with Prepared Standards

AAbsorbanceC Calibration Standard AO1= 90.1 CO1= 70.0 AO2= 92.6 CO2= 80.0 AO3= 94.2 AO3= 94.2 CO3= 90.0 CO3= 90.0 Example Calibration Table

Entering Values into EDIT program Make sure the Cal Lock switch on the back ofMake sure the Cal Lock switch on the back of the InfraCal is in the “I” position the InfraCal is in the “I” position

Press the CAL button for two seconds, until CALPress the CAL button for two seconds, until CAL appears on the display appears on the display Recall ZERO CAL RUN CAL Entering Values into EDIT program

Recall ZERO CAL RUN Edit Press RECALL until Edit is displayedPress RECALL until Edit is displayed Entering Values into EDIT program

Recall ZERO CAL RUN n= Press CAL The display will read n= for a short time Entering Values into EDIT program

Recall ZERO CAL RUN 3 Set the number to the number of standards (for our example it will be 3) using the up and down arrowsSet the number to the number of standards (for our example it will be 3) using the up and down arrows Entering Values into EDIT program

Recall ZERO CAL RUN A01 Press CAL and the display will read A01= for a short timePress CAL and the display will read A01= for a short time Entering Values into EDIT program

Using the up and down arrows, scroll to the first absorbance value (for our example it will be 90.1)Using the up and down arrows, scroll to the first absorbance value (for our example it will be 90.1) Entering Values into EDIT program AAbsorbanceC Calibration Standard AO1= 90.1 CO1= 70.0 AO2= 92.6 CO2= 80.0 AO3= 94.2 AO3= 94.2 CO3= 90.0 CO3= 90.0

Do the same for the remaining calibration valuesDo the same for the remaining calibration values Entering Values into EDIT program AAbsorbanceC Calibration Standard AO1= 90.1 CO1= 70.0 AO2= 92.6 CO2= 80.0 AO3= 94.2 AO3= 94.2 CO3= 90.0 CO3= 90.0

Recall ZERO CAL RUN IDLE After the last value, the display will read IDLEAfter the last value, the display will read IDLE Entering Values into EDIT program The calibration is now stored and active in the InfraCal

First insure sample plate is clean Sample Analysis

Apply approximately 2ml of the fuel sample ensuring that the entire crystal is wet Sample Analysis

Close cover to keep volatiles from evaporating Sample Analysis

Recall ZERO CAL RUN 0.0 Press RUN Sample Analysis

Recall ZERO CAL RUN 85.7 Sample Analysis After 15 seconds the result is displayed

Clean the crystal with a delicate task wipe cleaning from one end of the crystal to the other The InfraCal is ready for the next sample Sample Analysis
