www.u-gov.eu Covers from 3 to 5 years Universities send only their best research results (Universities run an internal assessment before) National Assessment based on bibliometric indicators + peer review University final ranking % of Public Funding delivered according to this ranking (Each year the Ministry of Higher Edu delivers funding to Italian public universities based on a set of key indicators. This set of indicators will be widen to include performance indicators about research and learning activities) Universities 2) National Research Assessment Exercise Ministrerial officies

www.u-gov.eu Ministerial CRIS interoperability Universities’ CRISs and the Ministerial CRIS exchange data via: –Web services –File upload/download –OAI-PMH (work in progress) Researchers’ curricula are in Europass format. We are working to provide national research project data according to CERIF. Re-engineering of Ministerial CRIS expected in the future

www.u-gov.eu Repository of Research Results Research outputs management (publications, patents, products, ecc.) Statistics/Reporting about publication, researcher, research unit, area, ecc. Data import and export using standard metadata formats (e.g. MODS, qDC, ISI, BibTex, Endnote, Pubmed,...) towards university library, institutional repository, university portal, national systems and web sites System interoperability (e.g. OAI- PMH publication metadata harvest, other web services,...) Researchers unique data entry point (for portals and ministerial systems) Duplication detection (by an automatic recognition) Attachment management (e.g. full text) and copyright management Integration with U-GOV HR data for authority control management Focus on management needs, while the university portal distributes access and use to research data

www.u-gov.eu Assessment Process Assessment Session Types: –Automatic –Peer reviewed –Mixed Configuration steps: –Selection of results grouped by attributes (e.g. tipology, year,...) –Definition of assessment rules and criteria per each result group More assessment sessions (based on different criteria) can simultaneously run on the same result group.
