Graduation Requirements and Goal Setting Overview: Instructors will present information concerning graduation requirements at CHS, program course offerings and IEP document. Agenda ☺ Pre-assessment of graduation requirements and Program of Studies ☺ My Plans to Graduate ☺ PSAT/SAT process and accommodations ☺ Program of Studies ☺ Capstone and Graduation Portfolio ☺ Long and short-term goals ☺ IEP Document

Overview: Instructors will present information about personal autonomy, choice and decision making Agenda ☺ Pre-assessment of self-empowerment skills and strategies ☺ Transition page of the IEP document ☺ Accommodations and modifications page of the IEP document ☺ Student rights and responsibilities at the IEP meeting ☺ Age of majority ☺ IEP goals ☺ Logo design ☺ Post-assessment

Overview: Instructors will present information about motivation and self-knowledge Agenda ☺ Pre-assessment of motivating factors or conditions and self-knowledge ☺ Choice based on preferences, interests, strengths, limitations ☺ Consequences of decisions ☺ Responsibility ☺ Communication ☺ Persistence ☺ Post-assessment

Week # 5 Topic: Show me the Money a.k.a. Possible IEP Meeting Situations--What would I do? Overview: Instructors will present potential IEP meeting situations requiring self-empowerment action steps by students Agenda ☺ Pre-assessment of self-empowerment action steps ☺ Read situation aloud ☺ Identify strengths of actions ☺ Identify weaknesses, problems with actions ☺ Develop checklist for students to bring to IEP meetings ☺ Post assessment

Week # 6 Topic: Let's Play School a.k.a. How do I Teach all this Information to the Middle School Students? Overview: Students and instructors will develop specific lesson formats and instructional activities for their visit to the Middle School Agenda ☺ Form teams of two students each ☺ Choose topics/activities/format ☺ Develop pre and post assessments ☺ Practice teaching topics/activities
