Background Information Was the summer palace of Frederick the Great Name translates to “Without Worry,” meaning it was a place of relaxation Contains terraced gardens as well as many smaller buildings used for servants and parties Is now a park for tourists

Chinese House Outside architecture contains gilded figures of people playing instruments and in different poses Marble inside with small rooms these rooms now house historical artifacts Was originally used for entertaining guests

Terraced Gardens Terraced gardens were once the home to grape vineyards, but are now for decoration only Gardens are right in front of the main palace building Large fountain at the bottom is a common meeting place for groups and home to a large population of ducks

Orangerie Was a sort of greenhouse for Frederick the Great, where tropical fruits and plants were grown year-round Gave the family and staff access to high- quality, exotic food throughout the year
