Installing and Using Approach Plates

This is the APIC Approach Plates Manager (ManageDTPP.exe)

If you have already installed Approach Plates on your device, and just want to install the plate revisions, check this box STEP 1 Select the device and file path to which you wish to copy the Approach Plates

Next, highlight the states you wish to copy to your device Once you have selected the states, click the left arrow to move the plates to your computer

Once you have selected which plates to copy, click the Copy button to begin the transfer The files will begin copying to your computer. This could take a few minutes to a few hours depending on the amount of data transferred

When the plates have been copied, the left column will be left blank again Click “Done” to close this window You can also search for specific plates by City, Airport Name, or Airport ID

Airport Information and Displaying Approach Plates in APIC

There are 2 ways to open an approach plate in APIC. The first being to open the Airport Dialogue Box of that airport…

To open an Airport Dialogue Box,Click on the Find Arpt button on the tool bar. To open an Airport Dialogue Box, Click on the Find Arpt button on the tool bar. …or click directly on that Airport

Here you can define the airport search by the airport ID, Name, or City Name Use the key pad provided to enter the information Use the key pad provided to enter the information. Then click Ok

This will open the Airport Info box Click on the Plates tab to view the available Approach Plates for that airport

To view one of the approach plates, first select an Approach Plate After selecting the Plate click the Display Plate button

This will change the current view, and display the Approach Plate SLC

The second way to access Approach Plates is the Search Menu located at the top of the Approach Plate Viewer SLC To search for an airport, type in it’s identifier here, then tap Find

SLC A dropdown menu will then appear displaying all Approach Plates for that airport

Your position on the horizontal plane is shown with this red circle with a line pointing in the direction of motion We can also see our position on the glide slope, by this blue circle These marks represent your real-time location as determined by your GPS
