2 War of 1812 Impressments- kidnapping – The British would kidnap US sailors and force them to serve in the British Navy. War Hawks- people who pushed for war Native Americans teamed up with the British Canadians to fight against settlers taking the NA’s land

3 Important Battles Battle of Horseshoe Bend – Andrew Jackson defeated the Creeks Battle of Fort McHenry – Francis Scott Key wrote the “Star Spangled Banner” Treaty of Ghent – Ended the war, but didn’t solve any problems Battle of New Orleans – Fought after the war ended, Jackson hero!
