Well Balanced Growth Luke 2:40 “And the Child grew and became strong in spirit, filled with wisdom; and the grace of God was upon Him” Luke 2:52 “And Jesus increased in wisdom and stature, and in favor with God and man.”

Well Balanced Growth Physically Socially Mentally Spiritually We want the same for our children ! 1 Tim.4:8 “godliness is profitable” 1 Pet. 3:18 “grow in grace”

Parents – Interested in Spiritual Training “went to Jerusalem every year at the feast of the passover.” Lk.2:41 Deut. 11:19-21 - “teach to your children”

Parents – Interested in Spiritual Training Jesus was 12 years old Jewish boy “son of the Law” Commitment to our children Eph. 6:4 “bring them up” Spiritually

Parents – Went Looking Luke 2:43-45 “returned to Jerusalem” Ps. 127:3 “Lo, children are an heritage of the LORD: and the fruit of the womb is his reward.”

Jesus – Subject to Parents Luke 2:51 “and was subject to them” v. 47 - “astonished at his understanding” Smarter than his parents Not a show off Not arrogant

Jesus – Subject to Parents John 8:28, 29 “for I always do those things that please him.” Heb. 5:8-9 Learned obedience Author of eternal salvation

Jesus – Knew what he was about Lk.2:49 “Did you not know that I must be about My Father's business?” Eccl. 12:13 “Fear God and keep his commandments: for this is the whole duty of man.”
