What is Hepatitis C?? Like the other types, Hepatitis C inflames your liver. It’s more permanent then the other 2 types of Hepatitis. Hepatitis C is a virus. Like all viruses, you can pass Hepatitis C.

How its transmitted You can get Hepatitis C by injecting illegal drugs, getting body piercings or tattoos. It is rarely transmitted by blood transfusions. Leads to chronic hepatitis, cirrhosis, liver cancer or liver failure.

Symptoms You feel like you have the flu. Feel tired. Feel sick to your stomach. You will have a fever. Have a bad appetite. Have bad stomach pain. Lastly, you will have diarrhea.

Prevention Don’t share tweezers, needles, clippers, razors anything that touches blood. If you work around people that were bleeding, wear protective gloves or masks. Although the risks of it being sexually transmitted always wear a condom.

How you can be tested for Hepatitis C You can either have your blood tested or a liver biopsy. If you get a liver biopsy, what they do is get a tiny piece of your liver through a needle. Then the doctor tests it for Hepatitis C or liver damage.

How you can be treated. Man under going treatment with interferon Most people get treated for this disease with a combination of 2 shots. The 2 shots you can get is alpha interferon and ribavirin. Some people only get alpha interferon.
