1 Animals Week 6 Directions 1.Prepare your desk for science. 2.Use voice level 2 (conversation) to discuss this question: What was the most exciting thing that you did over the break? If you have OLD homework or quizzes to turn in, please put them on the desk up front.

2 Targets & Warm Up Targets: Students will classify animals based on their structures. Classify : arrange (a group of people or things) in classes or categories according to shared qualities or characteristics. Warm Up: What is a vertebrate? What is an invertebrate? What are some examples of each?

8 Vertebrate Terms Warm-blooded: Animals that are warm-blooded control their body temperatures. Cold-blooded: Animals that are cold-blooded take on the temperature of their surroundings. Lungs: Organs in your chest that allow your body to take in oxygen from the air. Gills: The organ of most aquatic animals that breathe water to obtain oxygen.
