1
Making the Carbon Footprint Less in our School District By: Sawyer Brantley, Samuel Hutchinson, and Christopher Jookar
2
Reducing Electricity We propose that we get infrared cameras in the school system. That will reduce the use of lights on in the halls during after school hours. Doing that we reduce electricity, which reduces carbon dioxide, a greenhouse gas. Just by reducing lights we reduce Carbon Dioxide!!
3
How Infared Cameras Relate to the Expert Map Since we don't have infrared cameras we have to turn on the lights at night. If we had infared cameras than we could turn off the lights. If the lights are off at night than it would reduce electricity generation. That would reduce burned fossil fuels. This will reduce the amount of carbon dioxide. That causes there to be less heat reflected and absorbed to Earth. That will decrease carrying capacity and the melting of sea ice. That limits the the ocean level. That would reduce coastal flooding. Going back to global temperature, if that was decreased than it wouldn't increase carrying capacity as much. That limits condensation more. That would produce even more precipitation. that reduces drought more which kills less plants.
4
Car Pooling We can also reduce carbon dioxide by Car Pooling. A way we can get people to carpool is to have signs around the classrooms, have teachers make announcments, putting an add in our school newspaper, or have the morning announcments have it on.
5
How Car-pooling helps the Earth You see,Car-pooling decreases the amount of burned fossil fuels, which decreases the amount of carbon dixoxide, which decreases the amount ofheat reflected to the Earth.
6
Reducing Garbage We also propose that all classrooms in metro schools have recycling bins. This reduces garbage which creates methane. Methane is a greenhouse gas. So if we reduce trash in our classrooms than we reduce methane!!
7
How Having Recycling Bins Reduces the Carbon Footprint By having recycling bins, it reduce sthe amount of garbage in landfills. That reducse mathane. That reduces heat reflected to the Earth. That reduces absorbed heat energy, which reduces global temperature. That increases sea ice, which levels the ocean level, and that will decrease costal flooding. Global temperature also will reduce carrying capacity, which will limit the amount of condensation. That will make precipatation happen more. That will decrease drought. That will increase vegetation. That will absorb Carbon Dioxide. Precipatation will also make more water vapor. That will make even more condesation in the air. Carbon Dioxide will will go back to heat reflected to the Earth and will start the cycle over again.
