R OCKSTAR M ANIFESTO First rule of life and business: Life IS FAIR; you get what you deserve (not what someone else deserves)!!!!
2
**S UPPLY AND DEMAND !!! T HE DUDE ABIDES, BUT THE MARKET DECIDES ! ( YOU CAN QUOTE ME ON THAT ) 2 nd rule: know what I want to do (or what I don’t want to do) in life. -Find out what I need to do to execute my plan (how much will it cost in time, sweat-equity, money, education, etc.) -execute my life plan There are double-standards everywhere, in every level of society: embrace this fact, learn to exploit them.
3
If you see someone who is successful in what you want to do/be: copy them; do what they did. ( Does this make you a sell- out: yes, but a successful, rockstar sell-out) There are LEADERS, FOLLOWERS, and PEOPLE WHO ARE IN THE WAY. Which of the three will you be? (hint: everyone can’t lead all the time…it’s okay to follow someone who is doing right).
4
C APITALI $ M Capitali$m: -capital= money, cash, currency, profit. -“ism”= the process or understanding of. Capitalism is process of making money.
5
W HAT WILL PEOPLE PAY FOR ? (D EMAND ) Insurance: the illusion of security. Paying money to “protect” us financially in case of an emergency. (if J-Lo can insure her butt as a revenue source, you may want to think about selling insurance!)
6
H OW MUCH AM I WORTH ? ( DOLLARS AND CENTS ) Qualifications and education/skills training add value because there is less competition. Corner the market, be the #1 supplier! Find the demand for a product/service, create the “supply.” Hint: there is little to no demand for a Breezer who is a mediocre student and has no skills or trade, but thinks he is going to be a professional basketball player even though he doesn’t even play for the team. What can you do, that other businesses/employees cannot do? What sets you apart from your peers? What do you bring to the table that no one else can bring?
7
I NVE $ T !!!! Invest wisely, invest in your future. Appreciation vs. depreciation: -invest in things that will INCREASE in value. Prepare for the future (your plan); prepare for retirement. In life you will work and you will play: Those who spend the first half of their lives working, will spend the second half playing. (I’m on a boat!) Those who spend the first half of their life playing, will spend the rest of their lives working!!!
