Why is the dollar in the skies? By: Jodie Owen Abril Jay Juliana Rojas Lopera 11º1

It isn’t a secret that dollar is in the skies, actually it’s estimated at $3.142, this affects those who buy foreing things, but it doesn’t affects United State’s traders. If the dollar price goes up, then obviusly the importers would have to spend more money and this is why the products get more expensive for us.

The dollar in Colombia.

Advantages and disadvantages This is not bad for every one, for the people who export, they have more earnings for each dollar. Many of our entrepreneurs are importers of raw materials, for importers there is a very high rate of change, which benefit them. Our goverment is in a quite big problem, because since the dollar is too expensive, our foreign debt is still more expensive also, ‘cause we have to pay it in dollars.

Latin America. Sellers in Colombia are troubled by the dollar, they don’t know when the situation will improve, and therefore the national economy is very affected. But other countries like Venezuela, Guatemala and Dominican Republic are also affected because they have a role of importers.

Countries like Chile, Peru, Mexico and Brazil will see how increase their profits in the international market. When they sell their products are paid in dollars, which means more local currencies.

To finalize, the countries that use the dollar will not notice big changes internally, although they see exports more expensive and therefore reduce their competitiveness in the markets and can lead to losses in firms and unemployment. Experts say, the dollar shall be raising day by day, that's why there's no solution in a short o medium term.
