2. 1.1Why did you use a computer? What other systems / resources could you have used? Using a computer allows you to use different tools to make the presentation seem more appealing for example, transitions which allow words to fly in onto the screen. A computer is much easier to work with as well. Using a computer gives an efficient amount of tools which are useful. I could of used a more manual way of this presentation for example a poster or something like that however due to the generation of children they are more attracted to a computer so showing them a presentation with things like animation and videos would attract them to come to the school which was the aim of the presentation. If you make a mistake in your presentation then you can just change it instead of if you make a mistake on a thousand leaflets then you will have to start all over again.

3. 1.2What skills did you need to learn in order to use PowerPoint? To use PowerPoint you will need to learn how to organize a slide, how to save your work, how to email the PowerPoint. l Those are really the basics but if you use PowerPoint more often then you will need to learn about layout of the page, transitions, animations and how to format the page and how to structure it in a professional way. You can use PowerPoint with the basics however in order to create a good PowerPoint you will have to learn how to use these tools to make it professional. Throughout my secondary education I had to learn about these different skills needed on PowerPoint and combine them however I didn’t know how to use buttons with hyperlinks on the presentation and that was needed in the PowerPoint.

4. 1.2What resources did you need to make the presentation successful? Well you need PowerPoint software because without that you would not be able to create this presentation and you also need a computer/laptop or even a tablet to gain this software otherwise the presentation wouldn’t have gone as well as it did and then I would have to find another way to create this presentation. I would have needed internet access to gain images and RM shared was useful as it had the videos I needed to put on the presentation without this the layout of my pages would have not been as good as how it was laid out.

5. 1.4What factors might have affected how well you completed the presentation? (e.g. time / attendance / knowledge of software) If I was off school ill for a long period of time then the work would not have been completed and the presentation would not have been done and without knowledge of the software and its tools then I wouldn’t have been able to accomplish the PowerPoint. I had way enough time to complete this PowerPoint however my attendance was bad and slowed down my work rate. Unable to access my own area may have slowed down my work rate as I wouldn’t have been able to access the presentation and would have made me not to complete the presentation.

6. 1.6Why did you use PowerPoint to make your presentation? What other software was available? Why did you choose not to use them? PowerPoint offers a variety of different tools that allow you to catch the audience eye, it gives you animations, transitions, word art etcetera. Word could have been used for a presentation but you cant have specific things on there like you do on PowerPoint. I chose PowerPoint because it was more appropriate for a presentation as the name of the software is actually named and designed for creating a presentation yet word doesn’t offer the variety of tools such as transitions and PowerPoint actually has a wider range of fonts and also a variety of animations which Word doesn’t possess.

7. 1.7Were there any legal constraints or local constraints that changed the way you created your presentation? (e.g. copyright, file sizes) Copyright is about having permission of using a photo, audio or video so you need to ask permission to use it. People can get sentenced to time in prison for copyright and it really isn’t worth going through for a couple of images. It was restricted to the places I could get my images/videos from. If I wanted to use a copyrighted image I would have ask for permission which would have taken too long or they would ask for me to pay which I couldn’t afford it. When I had to upload the presentation I had to compress the file to make it smaller otherwise it wouldn’t have uploaded as the website would only allow a specific amount of data to be uploaded.

8. 2.2Which tools within PowerPoint made it appropriate for your presentation? In the PowerPoint that I have created I have used the same font to make it appropriate to the topic, I also have used transitions between all of the slides and animations to attract the audience. These tools were totally appropriate. I used a variety of different images to show specific things. I also used buttons to witch between pages by clicking on them I used three different buttons, one to go to homepage which is slide one and the other two were to go to the previous or next slide to the one that you are on.

9. 2.4What improvements do you think you could do to your presentation? Add more detail about the subject and make the colours appropriate and try to make things look more organized than they did and to do this I would rearrange the slides to go into a more chronological order. The use of animations may have been too much and I would reduce that not to every single thing on the slide because it seemed repetitive and less appealing to the audience. I would change the images to look more professional as some of the images may be considered inappropriate for a presentation however there was no other images available to me.

10. 3.2What improvements do you think you could have done to improve your work rate? To improve my work rate I should have not got distracted by students so easily and try to get the work done and to be more motivated with the PowerPoint rather than complaining that it is not interesting or anything this would have allowed me to spend more time in lesson to complete the presentation. Using a template may have helped work rate as well instead of building a PowerPoint from scratch as it would have taken a shorter period of time. If I could have learned the keyboard shortcuts then the PowerPoint may have taken a shorter period of time.
