5  Why we are here  We have analyzed our current HIT and developed an IS tactical plan to support our strategic initiatives.  Decision making process consisted of the following criteria and weight: Alignment with IDN goals – 37.50 Quality/Patient Safety – 25.00 Financial ROI – 13.75 Implementation/Tech Risk – 12.50 Infrastructure – 11.25

6  Create a virtual medical community service arena in which medical centers, associated physicians and hospitals engage in a separate and shared EHR system.  Foster physician development and relations  Develop partnership with patients and community  Promote employee relations  Show value proposition (low cost consistent with high quality, demonstrated high performance on outcomes)

7  Our vision is to be the top HCO in the area by adding value to the HCO and patients.  To do so, upgrades to current systems (EMR, Kronos) as well as implementation of new systems (BCMA, ODS) are needed.  Changes are necessary in order to improve patient safety, satisfaction and operation efficiency.

20 Outreach & Events  Staff interested in IT news may attend events, seminars, and exhibitions. Seminars will be used as a communication tool for the promotion of IT initiatives.  IT team can present to staff and receive immediate feedback.  Allows for more detailed and technical information to be presented.

21  Meeting with End Users  Keeping open channels of discussion in a structure forum  Allowing for open contact for possible process changes which may occur from time to time  Support product and service differentiation  Continuous shared planning activities  User /IS cooperation and learning  Experienced Users and IS personnel creating continuing training and sustainment
