Learning about the disease can help you understand better the transitions. Hard to understand the transition. Have a good communication with your doctor. Difficulties cope with the illness. Dealing with others symptoms. The suffering not knowing or remember things. The anxiety. The frustration. Crying.

8 STAGES OF THE AD THREE MAIN STAGES THE WORST MILD STAGE = a person have memory loss and small changes in their personality. MODERATE AD = memory loss and confusion become more obvious. Trouble understanding,organizing, planning, and following directions. SEVERE ALZHEIMER’S DISEASE = last stage of Alzheimer ‘s and ends in the death of the person. People need help at all times. Not able to walk or sit. Not able to talk, and not recognize family members. Trouble swallowing and refuse to eat.

9 keeping the person with AD safe Examples Things that made you safe at home. If they turned the oven or let the hot water run. How to use the phone in a emergency. To stay away from dangerous things around the house. Supplied their medicine. Made changes to cover your family needs around the house Smoke and carbon monoxide alarms in or near the kitchen and all rooms. Phone numbers ready = ambulance, poison control, doctors, hospital Safety knobs on the stove and a shut off switch. Child proof plugs and doors and handles.
