Coordination Commitment is needed from the outset to a mutli- sectoral health crisis response that addresses the social, economic, political determinants of health Effective coordination of a multidimensional health crisis response at the international, national and sub- national levels is critical Architecture and governance at global, national and sub-national levels needs to facilitate effective cross- sectoral responses

Building resilient systems for health Pay attention from the beginning to secondary health impacts - for example: HIV, malaria, TB, maternal and child health Social cohesion is an important determinant or enabler of any response to a health crisis Community engagement is critical to building resilient systems for health Investment in systems for health goes beyond investments in the health sector –cash payments for Ebola Response Workers

Preparedness & response capacity Early warning and rapid response capacity needs to be strengthened at all levels Systematic investment is needed to strengthen in country capacities for diagnostics, laboratory, treatment, contact tracing, health care waste management UN policies, procedures and infrastructure need updating to facilitate rapid response whilst ensuring duty of care
