1 HomeGovernancePolicy documentsScientific panelThematic working groupsKnowledge networkCountry profiles Country Profiles The Third Ministerial Meeting in Kuala Lumpur agreed to develop and implement mechanisms to enable more effective sharing of information between the health and environment sectors and other sectors by using Environmental Health Country Profiles (EHCP) and Environmental Health Data Sheets (EHDS). These documents will provide a snapshot of the current status and provide the basis to monitor trends into the future and are considered to be essential to priority settings and policy-dialogue and engagement amongst different stakeholders and inter-ministerial collaboration and cooperation. The EHCPs and EHDS are important tools to guide the development and monitoring of the post-2015 development agenda in particular the SDGs. At the same time national EHCPs and EHDS can provide important analytical input to guide the work of the broader UN system at the country level in support of national environment and health priorities. 1)To determine the existing status of health and the environment in each country in terms of the important environment risks and hazards, policy and regulatory frameworks governing environmental and health programmes, institutional infrastructure, and national environmental and health programmes, capacities and activities; and 2)To identify challenges and gaps in the policy, institutional and capacity requirements related to environment and health interactions.
