Thailand is in the Expanding Circle which means that English plays an important role and is widely studied in more specific fields such as business and industry rather than for general usage or academic objectives.

However, recently, English has gradually increased its role in Thailand especially in academic areas; it is now taught as a compulsory subject from early childhood to the university level.

Furthermore, English language is expanding in popularity and is extensively used through every medium like television, radio, billboards and internet websites.
