4 3.Defining and Analysing the problem Identify the problem. Usually the person with a problem cannot articulate their needs In a lot of cases there is no problem The job of an analyst is to specifically identify and name “The Problem” that needs to be solved

5 3.Factors that impact on problems solving Technical – Is the hardware and software adequate for the task Operational – Will the new solution work with existing systems and are staff adequately trained Financial – What is the budget? And will the solution be profitable Ethical – Data storage and system access that may compromise security and privacy
