9.  We learned, that donating blood may not only benefit the person who received the blood cells but also improve the health of the donor.  We learned this when we participated as volunteers at the American Red Cross and shared with some donors.  This learning matters because every single blood donation can help save up to 3 lives, and every 2 seconds, someone in America needs blood.  In light of this learning we need to realize the importance of donating blood and getting involved in the process.
