Ephesians 2:1-10 God’s purpose, 2:7 Verse 7 – A testimony of God’s grace to all generations God’s Method, 2:8-9 Verse 8 – Grace is the basis of our salvation “Have been saved” = a fact (vs. 4-7) Greek verb – perfect passive indicative Perfect – completed in the past and continuing in the present. Passive – An action done TO us Indicative – Mood of reality, It is TRUE!

4. Ephesians 2:1-10 Verse 8 (Cont.) Faith – This is the only part of salvation that is our responsibility! Not of yourselves - Romans 6:23 Gift of God – not a loan, but a gift Verse 9 Not of works – drives the point home. Works off the table! No boasting – We didn’t do it, so we can’t boast.
