Fendering Update The following activities are anticipated over the next quarter: Review of alternate designs for fendering Meet key stakeholders and regulatory agencies Receive and review pricing of options by PCL Select preferred alternate for review by Council

Construction Progress – West Side Delta Hotel and Harbour Road access completed City staff worked closely with Delta management to ensure a safe and acceptable opening of the roadway Improvements to E&N trail access, which now has a stop sign and controlled dedicated crosswalk for users

Construction Progress – West Side Northeast corner of Harbour Road has seen retaining and multi-use trail construction in the past quarter Focus shifts to Wall 11 and pedestrian overpass Improved interim bike box installed to better accommodate large volumes of cyclist traffic Bike box is more inviting and functional for cyclists

Construction Progress – West Abutment Completion of the west abutment to bridge deck level is a major milestone Work has shifted to backfilling behind the abutment and the construction of Wall 4 Relatively soon the new bridge approach will be seen to take shape

Construction Progress – Walls 4 & 11 Wall 4 currently under construction This wall sits directly behind the west abutment to provide support to the road structure and Will tie together with Wall 11 to form the future multi-use trail

Construction Progress The west rest pier, east intermediate pier, and abutment pier now substantially complete The bascule itself continues to make great progress – February saw the “Big Pour” Massive operation required months of planning and preparation and was successfully completed

Construction Progress – East Side Approach East side abutment – special engineering work This zone has been commonly referred to as the EPS Zone, or the “foam zone” To fulfill geotechnical needs, fill material placed when Pandora was first built is being removed and replaced with special foam material that can withstand the weight of the road above

Citizen Engagement Technical briefing for all media and the public was held last month and was well attended Briefing outlined the steps in steel fabrication, the new project schedule, budget, seismic design and technical aspects of building a bridge Ongoing media interviews

Council requested update on public realm – staff currently preparing a briefing presentation Briefing will update and inform Council about the feedback the public has already provided Briefing will seek further feedback and direction regarding certain aspects such as colours, handrails, walkways, lighting and public art
