Why do we eat? To live! We need the energy from food to run, talk, and think

How much food do we need? An average person should eat about 2000 kilocalories a day (2000 Calories as noted on food labels) This is equivalent to 8360 kilojoules, the metric unit of energy

What you will do Use a thermometer to measure temperature changes.
Monitor the energy given off by food as it burns. Determine and compare the energy content of different foods.
