Hot Air Balloon Journey
2
You will write a story about traveling to different places at various altitudes (heights above/below ground level) in your hot air balloon. You will use the addition and removal of heat and weight to describe the transition from one altitude to another.
3
First, you will fill out a chart planning out your story. Example: Home0 Clouds 30,000 ft Mount Everest 29,000 ft Add 30,000 heat Remove 1,000 heat
4
When you are finished with your chart, you will write a story about it and include pictures/drawings. Example: It was finally time to try out the hot air balloon I got for my birthday. I added 30,000 units of heat and rocketed up to 30,000 ft, up in the clouds, which looked like cotton candy. I removed 1,000 units of heat and fell to 29,000 ft, where I saw the peak of Mt. Everest, but it was too cold to stay.
