American Nuclear Society Human Factors Division Presentation to the ANS Board of Directors Robert M. Edwards, chair June 16, Pittsburgh, PA

HFD Mission The division devotes itself specifically to the human part of the nuclear system. Human Factors has its major objective to improve: task peformability, system reliability, system and personnel safety, efficiency and effectiveness. The major areas of interest include but are not limited to: task design, procedures, operator selection, training, instrument and control layout and placement, stress control, anthropometrics, motivation, and information processing.
