2 | 2 | Microsoft Growth & Culture 500 acre Redmond campus 8M square feet in 74 buildings 40K+ on campus 3M SF expansion underway 2% Bike to Work = 1,000+/day Highly Collaborative environment Intellectual/influential employee base High operational expectations Grassroots environmental stewardship Expectations for corporate leadership

3 | 3 | Bike Capacity Long term issue transporting bikes across Lake. No Bike Lanes across bridge Bike rack capacity limited on bus. Demand greater than supply. Metro and Sound Transit retrofitted bike racks from 2 to 3. Microsoft partners with transit agencies to address growing transit capacity. Microsoft had an underserved population of bike riders.

4 | 4 | SR 520 Bridge Bikes and Pedestrians prohibited! No bike lanes

5 | 5 | Go around the lake –I-90 or the –Burke/Sammamish River trail Get a folding bike No waiting for a bike rack. Bike Shuttle Options & Solutions Waiting for bike racks on the bus is sort of like being stuck in a traffic jam of a different kind… This seems like the world’s most solvable problem – all it needs is a bus that lets bikes come onboard just circling the bridge in the morning and evening.
