1. 1. I have plans and ideas, but I must accept that God has final say (verse 1). 2. I invite God to expose and adjust the motives behind my ideas and plans (verse 2). 3. I prayerfully yield control of the decision to follow God’s guidance (verse 3). 4. = SUCCESS! God works out everything according to His purposes (verse 4).

2.  (Psalms 37:4-5) Delight yourself in the LORD and he will give you the desires of your heart. {5} Commit your way to the LORD; trust in him and he will do this:

3.  (Proverbs 13:10) Pride only breeds quarrels, but wisdom is found in those who take advice.  (Proverbs 15:22) Plans fail for lack of counsel, but with many advisers they succeed.  (Proverbs 20:18) Make plans by seeking advice; if you wage war, obtain guidance.

4.  (Proverbs 12:15) The way of a fool seems right to him, but a wise man listens to advice.  (Proverbs 14:12; 16:25) There is a way that seems right to a man, but in the end it leads to death.  (Proverbs 21:2) All a man's ways seem right to him, but the LORD weighs the heart.  (Proverbs 26:12) Do you see a man wise in his own eyes? There is more hope for a fool than for him.

5.  (Proverbs 12:5) The plans of the righteous are just, but the advice of the wicked is deceitful.  (Proverbs 15:26) The LORD detests the thoughts [plans] of the wicked, but those of the pure are pleasing to him.

7. 1. Will I accept God’s final say about my ideas and plans (Proverbs 16:1)? 2. Do I invite God to expose and adjust the motives behind my ideas and plans (16:2)? 3. Will I prayerfully yield control of decisions to follow God’s guidance (16:3)? 4. Do I trust God to work out everything according to His purposes (16:4)?
