Respect others online (no CAPS) Speak up when you know someone is being bullied online Protect your personal information & identity Give credit where credit is due (citing your sources for pictures, music, art, etc.)

What info is ok to share online? Pics of friends/family (with their permission) Casual conversations during online games What is NOT ok to share online? Passwords, home address, location, cell number, email address What are the risks of sharing too much info? Identity theft, online scams, hacking, stalking

Know who you are communicating with online Don’t add someone you don’t know to your social media accounts Don’t give out personal info (address; places you go when not in school) Don’t agree to meet someone you met online People may not always be who they seem

Use strong passwords (don’t share with others); password protect your cell phone Edit privacy settings on social media (set limits on who sees your info) Remove identifying info from pics/video Don’t post location Avoid ‘handles’ with identifying info

Sending mean texts; creating fake profiles; posting embarrassing pics; spreading rumors/gossip using technology; altering a pic to embarrass someone; sending threatening comments Who are the ‘players?’ Cyberbully……..Victim………Bystander(s)

Can’t take it back! Think before you post! Digital footprint Deleted but not gone; untagging vs removing photos Don’t say/write something you wouldn’t say to someone’s face Representing yourself to family & friends If you wouldn’t want your parents or grandparents to see it, don’t post it

Don’t write back; trolling Block the person bothering you Save the evidence (take screen shots/pics) Tell an adult you trust (teacher, coach, principal) Report issue to website where bullying is occurring
