3 Program Director Responsibilities Prior to departure: Pre-departure orientation Contract, if necessary Travel advance, if necessary Insurance roster (non-credit) Student participation forms (non-credit)

4 Pre-departure Orientation General program schedule & travel arrangements Arrival, itinerary, free time, jetlag Academic expectations & university policies Credit, attendance, grading, behavior Withdrawal or dismissal from the program Health & Safety Insurance, immunizations, prescription medication Emergency protocol, important contact information General safety advice (pickpocketing, food, staying together, etc.) Accommodations Location, access to public transportation Access to laundry or kitchen facilities Shared rooms, linens & towels Topics to Address:

6 Program Director Responsibilities While abroad: Teach, lead, or direct program activities! Resolve any incidents or emergencies with CUA or on-site help, if needed. Maintain financial records.
