1
Production Process The steps to follow when making digital videos
2
Preproduction All of the work done BEFORE taping begins. Preproduction can take a long time, depending on the demands of the video. Occasionally, a video project never gets past the preproduction stage.
3
Preproduction Includes: Preparing budget & getting financing Making a storyboard and script Hiring talent & crew Arrangements for equipment Choosing & preparing locations for taping
4
Production The actual taping of the footage for the video. This is usually the shortest time in the production process, but is the most demanding. A production schedule is required so that all of the taping is done in the time allowed. A good script and/or storyboard helps to eliminate problems during production.
5
Post-Production The work that occurs after taping is done. The more complicated the video, the more time is needed in post-production. Good planning during preproduction and following the plan during production will reduce the problems found during post- production.
6
Post-Production Includes: Editing Footage: selecting the best scenes and putting them into the proper order Adding, Replacing or Enhancing Audio Tracks Creating computer effects Advertising & Promotions
