2 Motivation for the CEP Standards Session Complex Event Processing (CEP) technology is an essential complement to SOA for near real time operations CEP Engines are being used successfully in large scale mission- critical applications e.g. algorithmic training, intelligence Interoperability standards across CEP Engines (e.g. for event exchange) will be necessary for cross-organization collaboration These standards are technically feasible but are not being driven forward by current single CEP engine applications The purpose of this Session is to explore possible ways to accelerate standards development to support future multiple CEP engine deployments
