1. Regions (definition) A REGION – is an area with certain characteristics that set it apart from other areas. There are three types of Regions. a. SINGLE FACTOR REGIONS – defined by one characteristic Examples ____________________ b. MULTI-FACTOR REGIONS – defined by two or more characteristics c. FUNCTIONAL REGIONS – a region that performs a certain function, action or process.

Is a part of the earth with a unique set of physical features that people often use to meet their needs.
