Maria do Rosário Fidalgo – rosario.fidalgo@cig.gov.pt– rosario.fidalgo@cig.gov.pt Gender Equality Policies The Resolution of the Council of Ministers nº 1/2007, The I National Plan Against Trafficking in Human Beings (2007-2010); The National Employment Plan (PNE) 2005-2008 works towards an inclusive labour market that promotes equal opportunities for all, rehabilitation and reinsertion, reconciliation between professional, family and private life and gender equality, namely through qualification, employment and social cohesion; The National Plan of Action for Inclusion 2008-2010 (PNAI) the programme to enlarge the network of services and Social Structures (PARES) all aim to promote a more inclusive society. The policies have a strong impact on reconciliation between professional, family and personal life.

Gender Equality - 2007-2013; POFC-Operational Programme for Competitiveness – 10% increase in the incentive to projects that promote female entrepreneurship, financial support to the implementation of equality plans with effective contributions and good practices concerning reconciliation. The Resolutions N.49 and N.70 of the Council of the Ministers on principle of good governance of public sector companies. All companies held by the state have to adopt equality plans that promote work-family life balance. Gender Equality Policies

Maria do Rosário Fidalgo – rosario.fidalgo@cig.gov.pt– rosario.fidalgo@cig.gov.pt The Resolution n.161/2008 defines the status, profile and attributions of Ministerial Gender Equality Advisers and respective teams in Central Public Administration; In 2008, a new Labour Code – this Code includes new legislation on parental leaves, enlarging the possibilities of sharing the leave between the mother and the father and also increasing the length of the parental leave for the fathers; In 2009 - Law parental leave – the leave between the mother and the father also increasing the length of the parental leave for the fathers. Financial Independence – Measures A - To develop entrepreneurism as a means to mobilize women towards active, economical lives, promoting self-employment C -To develop qualified, female entrepreneurism as an innovative instrument and regenerator of regional an urban, economic and sectorial activity. E - To promote associations of women entrepreneurs, namely by means of developing service and product networks, using new technologies as a means of creating national and international partnerships, while equally sharing support and divulging promising, entrepreneurial practices.
