2 Industrialization A period of technological advancement and social change Began in great Britain in the 1700’s and spread to other countries in Europe In the 1800’s the Industrial Revolution spread to the U.S. and other parts of the world Industrial Revolution began because of scientific and technological changes in the textile industry – Good manufactured in a factory assembly line can be made quickly and in a uniform way.

3 Economic effects Rise of factories and cities Changes in business structure to become bigger Modern farming methods needed fewer people to work the farms and could grow more produce Improved railroads and communication system
