ENDANGERED DESERT ANIMALS Gila monsters –Gila monsters are classified as endangered because much of their habitats have been taken over by people. Bactrian camel –People take them from their habitats because they can carry heavy stuff, and they are used as work animals. Oryx –They were killed for their horns and coats. They were almost completely hunted down but they got sent to a safe place.
