All Rights Reserved. 19 Colocation Overview There are two primary types of colocation facilities: Gateways and Synergy sites Gateways – serves all types of customers - IP-enabled, includes the full suite of Level 3 services - Staffed - Offer AC and DC power Synergy sites – primarily for carriers - Transport-focused – not all services are offered - Call out coverage for Technical Staffing - DC power only Level 3 Colocation service may also be sold in Level 3 Network running line sites. These sites are not considered colocation facilities. They are typically small and provide DC power only. They do not provide any distribution for transport services.

All Rights Reserved. 21 Types of Colocation offered Independent Colocation Cage (ICC) ICC’s are caged spaces designed to accommodate a single rack that is usually used in a private suite. This offers the customer additional flexibility for equipment support (dimensions are: 30”X 28”X 72”). There are doors on both sides of the cage, and the partition between cages can be removed if the customer buys adjacent units. ICC’s are used for racking and stacking equipment and provide better cooling than a cabinet.
