BEYOND FOOTBALL Coach McCoy February 2015
2
INSPIRATION BEING RAISED BY MY SINGLE MOTHER, I WAS ALWAYS TOLD THAT I HAD TO EARN AN ATHLETIC SCHOLARSHIP IN ORDER TO ATTEND COLLEGE OR MY OTHER OPTION WAS SIMPLY TO JOIN THE MILITARY. HOWEVER, I FELT THAT NOT ONLY MYSELF BUT MOST OF MY FRIENDS AND TEAMMATES WERE INADEQUATELY PREPARED TO PLAN FOR OUR FUTURES BEYOND HIGH SCHOOL. I WANT TO HELP OUR PLAYERS AND THEIR FAMILIES DEVELOP A PLAN FOR ACHIEVING THEIR FUTURE GOALS BY DEVELOPING A FORMAL PROGRAM OF ASSISTANCE THAT BEGINS WITH A PLAYER FIRST JOINING OUR PROGRAM FROM 9 TH GRADE THRU GRADUATION.
3
MISSION TO DEVELOP PERSONAL PLANS FOR EACH FOOTBALL PLAYER TO ENSURE GRADUATION FROM HIGH SCHOOL WITH STRATEGIES TO BE ABLE TO SUCCEED IN COLLEGE, MILITARY, CAREER, AND LIFE THRU ACADEMIC ACCOMPLISHMENTS, PARENTAL INVOLVEMENT, WORKSHOPS, AND ACCOUNTABILITY.
