1. Osnovna škola Bartola Kašića Vinkovci Erasmus+ Young citizens of Europe – our future April 2015 ENTREPRENEURSHIP AND HEALTHY LIFESTYLE

2. Entrepreneurs are not born. They are made. The key skills children will need can and should be taught. Osnovna škola Bartola Kašića founded students’ cooperative “Perunika”, which became a member of Croatian Association of School Cooperatives in May 2014. Thirty nine students develop their entrepreneurial skills. They have workshops which help them to develop ideas, make business plans, produce and sell their products.

3. Rolls, greetings cards and Christmas decorations were successfully produced and sold.

4. The next step was expanding the market. Easter decorations were sold in the city centre.

5. Every year Health Fair is organized in Vinkovci. It promotes healthy lifestyle. Our school has a stand at the fair. Students and teachers distributed proverbs about the importance of healthy eating habits and sold different products made by the members of School Cooperative “Perunika”.

6. Gardening is very popular, so we sold seedlings of flowers and herbs that we had grown at school, in our “greenhouse”, which is actually hallway of our gym.

7. Best selling products were daisy cream and calendula cream.

8. Daisy cream: Manufacturing process Students from the first grade were also picking daisy flowers because it is such fun. Flowers had to be washed.

9. We put the flowers in a jar, poured olive oil over them and leave the jar in the sun for three weeks.

10. In the meantime, we designed the labels and prepared containers.

11. All ingredients were natural. We also needed beeswax and orange oil.

14. Lots of students want to join the School Cooperative “Perunika” and they will surely contribute to the work of the company with their ideas. They will learn how to work in a team and gain other skills they will need in future life.
